Moto G 2013 & 2014 Receives Android L 5.0 Update in India : Here's how to do it right .

You've probably had this "Yay !" moment before, only to realize that its a hoax. However, its a different story this time.

The actual "Yay!" moment

Yes fellas, its official
. Motorola has released android 5.0 update for Motor G 2014 and 2013 editions.

Head over to Settings --> About Phone --> Check for Updates and your Lollipop update is waiting for you.

However, you may encounter some bugs and heres why :
1. 5.0.2 is where most of bugs get fixed
2. There are still some errors in your 4.4.4 / 4.4.2 device and they get propagated to your new update

Thing is , first point cant be controlled, however you can get rid of second point mentioned above. In order to do that, you must

1. Take backup of data on your device
2. Do a device factory reset

PLEASE BACKUP YOUR DATA FIRST TO CLOUD/ HDD. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OF YOUR DATA.

For the Factory reset head over to Settings --> Backup & Reset --> Factory Reset.
It should take approximately 10-15 mins for factory reset.

After its done , restart device, and install Motorola Update Services (2.09 MB) from Play store

Now, head over to Settings --> About Phone --> Check for Updates and your Lollipop update is waiting for you.

After restart, set up your Android L device, restore your data and your're good to go.

This process is usually done to ensure that your current kitkat bugs do not get propagated to android L. Please leave your comments .

Happy updating ;)
